What is FD Identity?

FD Identity is the single sign-on (SSO) account you use to access all Finance District (FD) products. With one email-based login, you can securely move between the Prism Management Console, Client Portal, Smart Account Manager, and MCP-powered AI agents. Behind the scenes, FD Identity uses modern OAuth 2.0 / OpenID Connect to issue secure tokens instead of passwords being shared between services.

Understanding OAuth Authentication Flow

FD Identity uses OAuth 2.0, which is the industry standard for secure authorization. Here’s how it works:

Key Concepts

Authorization Code

A temporary code exchanged for an access token

Access Token

Short-lived credential (typically 1 hour) used to access APIs

Refresh Token

Long-lived credential to obtain new access tokens

ID Token

Contains your user information (name, email, user ID)

Scopes

Permissions requested by the application

Creating Your FD Identity

Use your work email if required by your organization.

Go to sign-in page

Navigate to your organization’s Prism or FD sign-in URL

Create account

Click Sign up / Create account

Enter email

Provide your email address

Verify email

Check your inbox for the verification email and click the verification link

Complete profile (Optional)

Add basic profile details like your display name

You're ready!

After verification, your FD Identity is active and can be used across all enabled FD products

How Sign-In Works

Open FD app

Open Prism Management Console URL

Sign in

Click Sign in with Finance District

Authenticate

If prompted, enter your email and complete any MFA or SSO step. Normally, if you’re already signed in to another FD product, OAuth will automatically authenticate you without re-entering credentials.

Access granted

Once signed in, you’ll stay logged in across other FD apps in the same browser
Single sign-on means you authenticate once and access all FD products seamlessly!

SmartPay MCP / Agent Wallets

FD Identity is also how AI agents are authorized to use your agent wallets and tools via MCP:

Setup Flow

Add MCP server

In your AI assistant (e.g., ChatGPT or Claude), connect the FD MCP server

Authenticate

The assistant will open a browser window to authenticate

Sign in with FD Identity

Sign in and approve the requested scopes (e.g., access to wallet tools)

MCP server is authorized

After approval, the MCP server can:
  • Create or attach an agent wallet for you
  • Expose tools like “get my wallet overview”, “create agent wallet”, “authorize payment”

What You Can Do

Once connected, you can interact with your agent wallet naturally: 
"Create an agent wallet for me on Base testnet"
"Show my wallet balance"
"What's my wallet address on Arbitrum?"
"Pay $5 for this API call"
You can revoke MCP access at any time via your organization’s management or identity settings.
